Investigation Summary
An employee was working in housekeeping in a skilled nursing facility and was collecting dirty clothes from patient rooms as part of his normal duties. The employee was tested for COVID-19 as part of the facility's normal weekly protocol. The following evening, the employee learned that he tested positive for COVID-19 even though he was asymptomatic. The employee developed COVID-19 symptoms and subsequently required hospitalization for treatment of his infection at 10:00 a.m. on January 5, 2021.
