Investigation Summary

An employee was working in a skilled nursing facility when she was infected with COVID-19. The employee was tested on February 25, 2021, for COVID-19 and received a positive test result. The employee stopped working on February 26, 2021 due to her symptoms and was hospitalized on March 2, 2021 with COVID-19 pneumonia. The employee was discharged from the hospital on March 23, 2021. The employer conducted contact tracing and concluded that all coworkers who would have had contact with the employee were not positive for COVID-19. The employer had implemented COVID-19 safety measures including wearing face masks, distancing of at least 6 feet, screening employees at the beginning of the work shift, and sanitizing surfaces.
