Employee with COVID-19 infection dies

Two employees were working in a warehouse where railcars were loaded and unloaded on one side and tractor trailers were loaded and unloaded on the other side of the building. The employees lived together with five other family members in the same household. A c coworker first experienced symptoms on December 14, 2020, and did not report to work. The coworker tested positive for COVID-19 on December 15, 2020, causing the employer to test all 88 employees on December 16. The employer previously did not have any employees exhibit symptoms of COVID-19 and followed state and local guidelines. Employee #1 and three other employees received positive results on December 16, 2020, and Employee #1 started to exhibit symptoms. Additionally, all of Employee #1 and the coworker's household members tested positive for COVID-19. Employee #1's symptoms worsened and on December 21, 2020, he died at home due to COVID-19.
