Employee with COVID-19 infection dies

At 3:30 a.m. on January 9, 2021, an employee who worked in close contact with patients at a residential facility for the intellectually and mentally disabled died of cardiovascular illness with accompanying COVID-19 infection. The employee had worked with a COVID-19 positive patient days before his death. The employer did not have an adequate Respiratory Protection Program in place.
