Employee with COVID-19 infection dies

On January 21, 2021, an employee who worked at a county detention center died due to complications from COVID-19. The facility was experiencing a COVID-19 outbreak at the time. The employee worked with a coworker who subsequently tested positive for the virus. The employee isolated for 5 days, was tested and a positive test was returned. He was admitted to the hospital for 15 days after testing positive before being admitted to the COVID-19 unit the following day. The employee died 8 days later.
