Employee with COVID-19 infection dies

An employee was working as a certified nursing assistant in the positive COVID-19 isolation and treatment wing of a nursing home. The employee reported symptoms of COVID-19 and was immediately provided a rapid swab test on December 11, 2020, which resulted in a positive COVID-19 test. The employee was admitted to the hospital on December 23, 2020, was released from the hospital on December 28, 2020, and readmitted on January 6, 2021. The employee subsequently died on January 25, 2021 from acute respiratory failure due to COVID-19.
