Employee with COVID-19 infection dies

An employee was working as a court interpreter for a county court system. His last day at work was December 18, 2020. On December 21, 2020, he began exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19. On December 22, 2020, he was tested for COVID-19. On December 23, 2020, he received his test results; they were positive. On January 4, 2021, he was hospitalized. His employer was notified of his hospitalization on that same day, but the employer did not report it to Cal/OSHA until January 7, 2021, three days later. At 3:15 p.m. on January 12, 2021, the employer was notified that the employee had died from COVID-19 that same day, but at an unknown time. The employer reported the fatality to Cal OSHA that same day.
