Employee with COVID-19 infection dies

On January 9, 2021, an employee who worked as a corrections officer for a state prison was not feeling well and went home sick. The employee was discovered by a family member at home. He had died as a result of acute pneumonia. COVID-19, infection, hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease and obesity were also listed as signicant factors on the death certificate.
