Investigation Summary
At approximately 1:53 p.m. on December 20, 2020, the fire chief and department personnel attended a coworker's funeral on November 23, 2020, and on November 26, 2020, the department responded to a fire call. Within the span of five days, five employees tested positive for COVID-19. The employee acquired COVID-19. The employee died on December 20, 2020, and death was attributed to was caused by COVID-19 with superimposed bacterial pneumonia.
