Investigation Summary

Investigation Nr: 134780.015
Event: 12/13/2020
Employee with COVID-19 infection dies

An employee worked in an unspecified capacity for a machine shop. The employee had close personal contact with a coworker who had been experiencing COVID-19 related symptoms and who later tested positive for COVID-19. The employee was tested on November 17, 2020, and was asymptomatic at the time he was tested. The employee's test results came back positive on November 18, 2020. The employee went home to quarantine. During the quarantine, the employee did not develop symptoms. The employer tested six additional coworkers during this time. Since the employee had a kidney transplant earlier in the year, he was instructed to report to the hospital to have his oxygen levels checked. At that time, he was admitted into the hospital. The employee died on December 13, 2020, due to COVID-19 related complications.
