Employee with COVID-19 infection dies

On November 28, 2020, an employee who worked as a Corrections Officer for a State Department of Corrections died from COVID-19. On November 9, 2020, the employer placed the employee on administrative leave when he began to exhibit symptoms of COVID-19. On November 12, 2020, the employee tested positive for COVID-19 and was hospitalized. Following hospitalization, the employee was life-flighted to a regional medical center. The employee remained hospitalized from November 12, 2020 until his death due to complications related to COVID-19. The specific cause of death was unknown at the time of the narrative was written.
