Investigation Summary

At approximately 3:30 p.m. on November 25, 2020, an employee was working as a paramedic. On November 9, 2020, the employee was admitted to the hospital due to experiencing fever, chills, loss of taste and smell, congestion, cough, body aches, and weakness and tested positive for COVID-19. The onset of the symptoms began on November 4, 2020. The employee had recently transported three patients who at the time of transport were not known to be carrying the SARS-CoV-2 Virus but were later determined to be COVID-19 positive. On October 20, 2020, the employee had transported a patient who later tested positive for COVID-19 on November 4, 2020. On October 21, 2020, the employee had transported a patient who later tested positive for COVID-19 on November 12, 2020. On November 4, 2020, the employee transported a patient who later tested positive for COVID-19 on November 5, 2020. The employee remained in the hospital and died on November 25, 2020.
