Investigation Summary
An employee was working as an MDS coordinator at a nursing care or skilled nursing facility. An MDS coordinator is someone who assesses patients and collects data for the minimum data set. Typically, an MDS coordinator is a registered nurse (RN). She was performing her normal job duties, coding residents' charts. On or about October 16, 2020, she tested positive for COVID-19. She was hospitalized on or about October 25, 2020. She remained in the hospital until she died there on or about November 13, 2020. She died due to complications of COVID-19.
