Investigation Summary
An employee was working as a registered nurse (RN) at a nursing care or skilled nursing facility. She provided care to long-term care residents. On November 5, 2020, her employer was conducting rapid result tests on workers at the facility. The employee tested positive for COVID-19. She was not exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 infection. At 9:00 a.m. on November 15, 2020, she died. The employee's cause of death was found to be respiratory arrest before cardiac arrest with pneumonia, due to the COVID-19 virus as a contributing factor.
