Investigation Summary
An employee was working for a public school system and was out of work on vacation when his family began to exhibit symptoms consistent with COVID-19. The employee worked on October 5, and had close contact with two coworkers. The employee and his family got tested on October 6, 2020, and all family members tested positive for COVID-19. The employee's symptoms worsened and he was hospitalized on October 12, 2020 and subsequently died at 8:00 a.m. on October 27, 2020, due to COVID-19 complications. The employee had underlying health conditions that made recovery more difficult.
