ELECTRIC SHOCK - CONTACT WITH OVERHEAD LINE THRU FALLEN LINE

AN EMPLOYEE WAS SPLICING A 7200-VOLT OVERHEAD POWER LINE THAT HAD BEEN DOWNED BY A FALLEN TREE IN A RECENT THUNDERSTORM. THE FUSE ON THIS LINE HAD BEEN OPENED, DEENERGIZING IT. HOWEVER, WHILE THE EMPLOYEE WAS SPLICING THE LINE, IT FELL ACROSS ANOTHER 7200-VOLT LINE ON THE SAME POLE. THIS ENERGIZED THE FALLEN LINE, ELECTROCUTING THE EMPLOYEE.
