Employee with COVID-19 infection dies

An employee was working for a nationwide chain of discount department stores. On October 6, 2020, his employer ordered him to enter a fourteen-day quarantine. The employee was staying at home, sleeping and not working. On the morning of October 8, 2020, he was having difficulty breathing. His spouse called for an ambulance at 2:40 a.m. At about 2:45, the employee died in the ambulance on the way to the medical center. When the employee arrived at the hospital, he tested positive for COVID-19. His death was attributed to COVID-19 with complications, and the existence of a pre-existing medical conditions, specifically diabetes and hypertension. The airborne virus, COVID-19, was found in his system. He died from breathing problems that were also associated with the illness. The postmortem report gave the cause of death as acute respiratory distress syndrome due to a COVID-19 infection, and diabetes and hypertension.
