Employee amputates finger in chain drive while repairing con

At 9:40 a.m. on July 6, 2020, an employee was repairing a conveyor line that had not been properly locked out. The employee removed a guard on a chain drive without de-energizing the conveyor and caught his finger in the chain/sprocket drive. The employee amputated the his ring fingertip and required medical treatment. The employee was not hospitalized.
