Investigation Summary
At 7:30 p.m. on August 28, 2020, an employee who performed post-crop harvesting duties died from COVID-19 and other aggravating health conditions. The employee had been experiencing flu-like symptoms after returning from vacation with two coworkers. The employee tried to come into work but was ordered to go home and quarantine by his supervisor. Family members of employee also has tested COVID-19 positive. On Friday, August 7, 2020, the employee called in sick. On August 11, 2020, the employer was informed by an unspecified source that the employee tested positive for COVID-19 and was hospitalized shortly thereafter. Information regarding engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls for COVID-19 are not included in the narrative.
