Employee with COVID-19 infection dies

An employee was working as a project estimator for a firm that manufactured sheet metal products. It specialized in stainless steel fabrication and equipment production. He contracted COVID-19, becoming symptomatic in mid-July 2020. He was hospitalized for several weeks, before he died on August 22, 2020. The death was attributed to complications associated with infection with COVID-19. Contact tracing conducted by the employer determined that it was possible that work-related exposure contributed to the employee's contraction of COVID-19.
