Investigation Summary
An employee was working at a general medical and surgical hospital on a military base. He worked in a cubicle in the hospital's supply technicians' office. He was in equipment management. He talked on the phone and with coworkers, and he met with hospital employees who were his customers. On July 21, 2020, he worked in proximity to a COVID-19-positive coworker. On July 24, 2020, the employee tested positive for COVID-19. On July 31, 2020, he was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia. At 1:00 p.m. on August 18, 2020, he died from respiratory failure secondary to COVID-19.
