Employee with COVID-19 infection dies

An employee was working at a nursing care or skilled nursing facility. She worked as a nurse in the COVID-designated unit of a long-term care facility nursing home. On July 31, 2020, she tested positive for COVID-19. On August 1, 2020, she took another COVID-19 test. This time, she tested negative. She stayed in quarantine. On August 7, 2020, she contacted her employers to let them know that she had been admitted to an emergency room (ER) and subsequently the hospital, with chest pain and suspected pneumonia. At 2:00 a.m. on August 19, 2020, her family notified the employer that she had died. The suspected cause was COVID-19.
