Three employees with COVID-19 infections die

Employee #1 was a corrections officer who worked in an inmate housing unit and did security checks and inmate counts and fed, escorted, and supervised the inmates. Employee #1 tested positive for COVID-19 on June 5, 2020, was admitted to the hospital on June 20, 2020 and died on July 25, 2020. Employee #2 was a water and wastewater supervisor who worked five days on rebuilding an aerator with coworkers who did not socially distance. Employee #2 was hospitalized for COVID-19 on September 20, 2020, and died on October 12, 2020. Employee #3 was a fire captain who worked with groups of eight inmates and slept in separate rooms from the inmates. Employee #3 tested positive for COVID-19 on June 12, 2020, and another Fire Captain tested positive for COVID-19 on June 14, 2020. Both of these employees worked on June 9, 2020, and had a 15 to 20 minute shift change meeting. Employee #3 was hospitalized on June 12, 2020. Employee #4 was a health records technician and accessed medical records, interviewed inmates for request for medical records and worked in an office. Employee #4 worked at the office on October 14, 2020, and wore a facemask and vinyl gloves. Employee #4 tested positive for COVID-19 on October 24, 2020, and was admitted to the hospital on October 24, 2020, and released on October 28, 2020. Employee #5 was a corrections officer who worked in the control booth by himself and would only be in contact with another employee during the 5-10 minute shift change meeting. Employee #5 tested positive for COVID-19 on December 21, 2020 and was hospitalized on December 30, 2020 and died on January 7, 2021.
