The dock section was 13.8 meters long by 1.2 meters w ide (45 ft long by 4 ft wide). Two coworkers were building the dock. After placing t he temporary rigging, they went to get carts to place the dock on. The employee went over to the controls and lifted the section a few feet, unaware that the te mporary crowbar rigging was still in place. When he recognized that the temporar y rigging was still in place, he let the dock down. The temporary rigging slacke ned, and the dock section fell. It came down on the employee's legs and ankles.
