Employee with COVID-19 infection dies

At 6:00 p.m. on July 10, 2020, Employee # 1 was providing care to nursing home residents. After returning home from the shift, Employee # 1 began to exhibit symptoms of COVID-19, including fever. Employee #1 was using PPE and protocols in line with current CDC recommendations while working on June 4, 5, 6 and 7 of 2020. Employee # 1 suffered a respiratory illness resulting from infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus (COVID-19/Coronavirus) and died. It is unknown if the employee acquired the infection at work. Employee # 1 had been working with patients that tested positive for COVID-19.
