Investigation Summary
On June 30, 2020, Employee # 1, a field laborer, was on quarantine. He tested positive for COVID-19 on July 8, 2020. On July 9, 2020, per the employer, Employee # 1 quit the company; and left for home in Mexico via rented vehicle, with other personnel, to be with family. On July 10, 2020, he arrived at a bus station in Mexico. He was found on the ground area near a bench. Emergency services were called and he died. He had pulmonary edema and possible lungs filled with fluid. His death was reported via phone by the employer representative at 3:00 a.m. on July 10, 2020. Employee # 1 died in Mexico.
