Investigation Summary
An employee was working in a regional medical center when she was exposed to patients and coworkers infected with COVID-19. The employee began having COVID-19 symptoms on June 12, 2020, and was immediately placed out of work. The employee tested positive for COVID-19 and on June 22, 2020, she was hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). At 7:07 p.m. on July 1, 2020, the employee died due to COVID-19 related respiratory system failure.
