Investigation Summary
At approximately 1:44 p.m. on July 2, 2020, Employee #1, an equipment operator e mployed by a transportation services company, was cleaning debris on the shoulde r of a highway following an earlier tire blowout. He was standing approximately 10 feet in front of his Ford F-250 maintenance pickup truck, which had its warn ing lights activated. The driver of an SUV veered off the travel lane onto the shoulder, sideswiped the maintenance pickup truck, and struck the employee. Emp loyee #1 was killed.
