Employee with COVID-19 infection dies

On April 22, 2019, an employee who was off work due to a non- COVID-19 related workers compensation claim contracted COVID-19 and died. The employee had been placed off work due to an illness on March 24, 2020. The employee had not been at work and or visited the worksite since that date. The employer was notified by their third party administrator that the claim has been filed for the employee. The employer had little to no contact with the employee while be was off work and they were notified of his death on June 24, 2020.
