Investigation Summary
On May 15 or May 16, 2020 Employee #1, a certified nursing assistant, was going to change the clothes of a suspected COVID-19 patient. The patient suddenly sat up and grabbed Employee # 1 by the left arm with both hands. Employee # 1 was wearing a face shield, an N-95, gloves and a gown. The patient was not wearing a surgical mask. When the patient grabbed Employee # 1, her N-95 was dislodged. Employee # 1 believes she contracted COVID-19 during this event. She became ill and she was hospitalized. She recovered and was released from the hospital.
