Employee with COVID-19 infection dies

An employee was working for a home health care service. She worked as a home health aide. She had been assigned to take care of a client at an assisted living facility in New York, NY. The last day the employee worked at the facility was on or about April 25, 2020. She was hospitalized for a COVID-19 infection. On April 13, 2020, the healthcare agency was informed that the employee had been working with a patient that was COVID-19-positive. On or about May 7, 2020, she died as a result of COVID-19. The employer learned of the fatality on or about May 7, 202. It did not report the fatality to OSHA within eight hours. On June 11, 2020, the employer notified OSHA's Manhattan area office of the employee's death.
