Employee partially amputates fingertip while troubleshooting

At 12:45 p.m. on June 12, 2020, an employee was troubleshooting the Automa Plus AT5D Blow Mold Press #11 De-flash section to determine why moiles (plastic scrap) was not being blown clear of the De-flash section. The employee did not hear the air noise indicating the cooling air nozzle was blowing. The employee attempted to feel the air flow while the control panel indicated the cooling air nozzle should be operating. The portion of the De-flash section that cut off the moiles of the plastic containers closed while the employee had his hand in the De-flash section. The employee suffered a partial fingertip amputation of the left middle finger and was treated without hospitalization.
