Investigation Summary
An employee was working as a case manager which included meeting with families, patients, nurses, and providers within the healthcare facility where possible COVID-19 positive patients and patients under investigation (PUI) were treated. The facility had several employees contract COVID-19 and test positive throughout the beginning of October. Proper PPE, training, signage and procedures had been in place since March 2020. The employee contracted COVID-19 and was hospitalized on October 17, 2020. The employee's health deteriorated during treatment, and she died on November 7, 2020.
