Employee with COVID-19 infection dies

At approximately 8:00 a.m. on June 1, 2020, Employee #1 died from COVID-19 and was first diagnosed with COVID-19 on May 30, 2020. The employee worked at a regional general and surgical hospital. The employee worked as an ultrasound technician and worked with COVID-19 positive patients prior to diagnosis of COVID-19. According to the employee's family, the employee traveled to visit family in San Diego where the family rented a house, with approximately 19 extended family members. They rented a vacation house in San Diego and did not wear facial coverings or practice social distancing between family members. All other family members tested negative for COVID-19 as they were tested after the employee was diagnosed with COVID-19 on May 30, 2020. It cannot be determined where or how the employee was exposed to COVID-19 or whether it was work-related or not.
