Employee with COVID-19 infection dies

An employee, a social worker at the nursing home who did not provide direct resident care but interacted with staff and patients daily, worked the week of April 27 through May 1, 2020. On Monday May 4, the employee called the administrator and reported that he had tested positive for COVID-19. The employee was instructed to seek treatment and not return to the facility until cleared by a physician. The employee was admitted to the hospital on May 8th for treatment of illnesses associated with COVID-19 and died on May 13, 2020, of acute hypoxic respiratory failure due to COVID-19.
