Investigation Summary
In early March 2020, two patients were brought to the emergency room on different days because their breathing had stopped. Employee # 1 performed CPR on each of the patients. She wore an N95 respirator and at least one of the patients wore a face covering, but the PPE moved chaotically during the CPR process. The patients were suspected to be infected with COVID-19, but the test for the virus was not yet available, so it could not be confirmed. Employee # 1 was exposed to the coronavirus. She had no obvious community exposure. On August 9, 2020, Employee # 1 was hospitalized due to complications from COVID-19.
