Employee breaks ankle in fall when aluminum ladder shifts

At 3:00 p.m. on March 9, 2020, an employee working as a custodian for a janitorial service was climbing down a 24-foot aluminum ladder. The bottom of the ladder shifted causing the employee to slip and fall to the concrete pad below. The employee broke five bones in his ankle and was hospitalized.
