Investigation Summary
On December 16, 2019, Employee #1, employed by a construction company, was installing shingles on the roof of a two-story residence. He was on a ladder at the roof line when he fell and landed on his stomach, a fall height of greater than 20 feet. He refused treatment while at the job site, but later that night he began to experience difficulty breathing. Emergency services were called and transported him to the hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery. He had traumatic injuries including a detached spleen and cardiac tamponade. He died in the hospital on December 20, 2019.
