Investigation Summary
At 4:00 a.m. on May 5, 2019, Firefighters were attempting to assess the damage and construct a plan of attack to reduce the fire. A firefighter was ascending a staircase when he declared the staircase unstable and called for a ladder to bridge the stairs when a full collapse of the staircase occurred. The firefighter was trapped on the second level, where he was killed in the fire.
