Employee lacerates wrist and fractures fingers in auger pit

At 12:30 a.m. on April 18, 2019, Employee #1 was looking into an auger pit for a forestry product company. The employee dropped ear protection into the auger pit when trying to identify whether a material was clogging it. The employee's wrist was lacerated and fingers broken when reaching into the pit to retrieve the ear protection. The employee was hospitalized for the injuries.
