Employee suffers burns and fractures when propane ignites

At 1:15 p.m. on March 13, 2019, an employee was working for a firm that repaired commercial and industrial machinery. Welding was one method of repair. The employee was also the firm's owner. The employee was removing valve from a propane container. The container had a volume of approximately 9,840 liters (2,600 gallons). As the last valve was being unthreaded, pressure from what was apparently propane gas inside the tank blew off the valve. The workplace was filled with gas. The gas was ignited by a heater in the building. The ensuing explosion threw the owner (the employee) away from the building. He suffered burns to his back, arms, and hands. He also suffered a broken knee and ribs. He was hospitalized for two or more days.
