Investigation Summary

At 7:30 a.m. on October 25, 2018, an employee was working for a landscaping service and arborist. He was trimming trees with a pole saw. He was working alone. Once he had loaded the tree trimmings onto his vehicle, he loaded the pole saw onto the vehicle. The cutting end was aimed toward the front seat. The employee was holding the pole saw with his right hand. When he began to drive, a tire ran over the pole saw's rope. The saw was activated. The employee sustained the amputation of the index finger on his right hand. He was not hospitalized.
