Employee fractures cheek, thumb, and ribs in fall from ladde

At 10:45 a.m. on August 29, 2018, Employee #1, employed by a public university, was attempting to descend from an 8 foot tall step ladder after rebooting computer equipment that was on a raised platform. He was stepping from the platform metal frame to the ladder, when he lost his balance and fell approximately 9 feet to the concrete floor. Employee #1 fractured his right cheek, left thumb, and seventh and eighth left posterior ribs. He was hospitalized.
