Investigation Summary
At 3:00 p.m. on August 14, 2018, an employee was trimming several nearby trees while operating from a rental Genie TZ-34/20 aerial lift basket that he had maneuvered close to a neutral line of a C phase 26.4V distribution line. The employee was observed by his coworkers ripping his shirt off and attempting to jump from the lift while sustaining third degree burns to his chest, back, both arms, and a left foot injury. The employee was hospitalized.
