Investigation Summary
At 10:45 a.m. on July 27, 2018, an employee was working for a tree care service or arborist. He was using a 3-meter (10-foot) pole pruner to prune a tree. He was standing on a 4.9-meter (16-foot) orchard ladder. The onsite supervisor and production manager was holding the orchard ladder to ensure that the pruning operation went safely. The onsite supervisor turned around and stopped holding the ladder. At that moment, the employee lost his balance and fell onto the pavement. He sustained fractures to one rib and his pelvis. He was hospitalized.
