Investigation Summary
At 12:15 p.m. on July 19, 2018, an employee was repairing a billboard installing cables, stringers, and reinforcing boards. The employee was standing on a 2 by 4 board that was approximately 6 feet from the ground while holding on to a stringer that was approximately 12 feet from the ground. The employee fell backwards into a second stringer before falling to the ground. The employee was taken to OSF Hold Family Hospital and transferred to OSF Saint Mary's Hospital, where he was admitted and treated for multiple leg fractures.
