Employee catches fingers between belt and pulley and amputat

At 9:15 p.m. on May 15, 2018, an employee and a coworker were setting up the Sakurai short screen press when his coworker asked him to sign off on the setup. The employee offered to adjust the pressure on the crush rollers while his coworker went to the other side of the machine to change the UV liquid can. The employee reached down to the pressure valve with his right hand and placed his left hand onto the running belt and pulley, amputating his fingertips on the pulley. The employee was hospitalized.
