Investigation Summary

On May 23, 2018, an employee and two coworkers were clearing vegetation along a highway. The employee was trimming weeds with a weed trimmer between the road and guardrail. The employee was struck by a passenger car and was propelled about 50 feet into a creek. A coworker called 911. The two coworkers and the vehicle's driver moved the employee from the creek to the creek bank. The employee was transported to a hospital by ambulance. The employee died at the hospital.
