Employee falls into saw blade and lacerates finger

At 8:30 a.m. on May 2, 2018, an employee was operating a Newman KM16 Trim Saw. The employee was approaching the third sawblade of the machine to clear wood from near the blade. The employee lost his balance and fell toward the saw blade, making contact with the blade with the left hand and severely lacerated his index finger below the first knuckle. The employee was hospitalized.
