Investigation Summary
At 10:00 a.m. on March 19, 2018, an employee was standing under the eve of a garage near a tree where a worker was cutting large branches 15 inches in diameter into smaller sections of 28 inches long and letting them fall to the ground. The employee was removing the pieces of branches so they would not damage the garage. The employee was relying on a timing method as to when the branch pieces might fall. He misjudged the timing pattern and was struck in the shoulder and arm by one of the branch pieces. The employee sustained serious internal injury to his right shoulder and arm.
